NFL Take a Player to School Contest – 2011/12

Official Contest Rules and Regulations (“Rules”)

1. The Contest sponsor of the “NFL Take a Player to School” Contest (“Contest”) is NFL International LLC (“Sponsor” or “NFL”). Rogers Sportsnet is a promotional partner. The Contest operator is Tenzing Interactive.

2. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. The Contest begins on November 18, 2011 at 12:00:01 am Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on December 30, 2011 at 11:59:59 pm ET. Contest entry is online at www.nflcontests.ca/TAPTS/Registration.php. To enter the Contest, provide all information requested, including your name and e-mail address and the name, date of birth, and school of your child or the child you are a guardian of (“child”), and city and province where the school is located. Only one child’s name can be listed in the entry. If you wish to receive advertising and marketing material about promotions that we think may be of interest to you from NFL and its affiliates, let us know by clicking on the box. Please complete the entry form fully or the entry will be ineligible.

3. Eligibility: Contest is open only to residents of Canada (excluding Quebec), except employees, representatives and agents (and immediate family and household members of such persons) of the NFL Entities (as defined below), Rogers Sportsnet, Tenzing Interactive and their respective advertising and promotional agencies and Contest judges. Only persons who are the parent or legal guardian (collectively, “parent”) of a child between the ages of 6 and 13 as of the first day of the Contest are eligible to enter (“entrant”). Limit one (1) entry per parent.  In these Rules, "immediate family" means spouse, domestic partner, son, daughter, brother, sister, mother and father, mother-in-law, and father-in-law. Although it is only a parent of a child who can enter the Contest, the Grand Prize (as defined below) can only be awarded to the child listed on the entry form and such child may only receive the award if the child is a student attending elementary, middle, or junior high school in Canada when the school visit is scheduled by NFL to take place. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to restrict participation in the award to a school that is located within a 150 kilometre radius of a major international airport in Canada. Entrants may be asked to provide proof of child’s age and residency prior to being declared a winner.

4. There are four (4) grand prizes, each consisting of (i) a personal visit by an NFL player to the winner’s school; and (ii) an NFL Prize Pack consisting of the visiting player’s youth replica team colour jersey, team sweatshirt and team cap will be awarded (“Grand Prize”). If possible, as part of the visit, the NFL player will participate in a school assembly. NFL will attempt to arrange and coordinate the date and time with the selected entrant and his/her child’s school and will determine which NFL player, depending on availability, will visit the child’s school. NFL International may attempt to arrange for a player from a team geographically close to the child’s school to visit the selected school but NFL will, in its sole discretion, make the final determination on the player, the date and time of the visit. Approximate value of each Grand Prize is $2,500 CDN.

5. Two (2) of the four (4) Grand Prizes will be regionally allocated, meaning that one Grand Prize will be allocated to a British Columbia entry, one Grand Prize will be allocated to an Ontario entry and the two remaining Grand Prizes will be awarded to an entry in Canada (excluding Quebec, but including British Columbia and Ontario). Determination of whether an entry is from a particular province is based on the province in which the child’s school is located in. Random drawings from the eligible entries for the four (4) Grand Prizes will be held by a panel of independent judges at 1 pm ET on January 05, 2011 at Tenzing Interactive, Toronto, Ontario. Each person is only eligible to win one (1) Grand Prize. For residents of British Columbia and Ontario, the chances of being selected as a winner for one of the regionally awarded Grand Prizes will depend on the number of eligible entries from British Columbia and Ontario respectively. The chances of being selected as a winner for one of the other two Grand Prizes depends on the total number of eligible entries received. All judges’ decisions are final and binding on all entrants and their children. Prizes are not transferable or convertible to cash and must be accepted as awarded. Prizes will be delivered to confirmed winners.

7. Attempts will be made to contact by e-mail the selected entrant (i.e. parent). If the selected entrant cannot be contacted or does not respond within seven (7) days from the date of drawing, is not eligible, does not correctly answer the skill-testing question, does not sign and return the required documentation within the time specified, or does not otherwise comply with the Rules, he/she (and his/her child) will be disqualified and forfeits the Grand Prize.  If a Grand Prize (or part of a Grand Prize) is forfeited or not accepted for whatever reason, an alternate eligible entrant may be selected for that Grand Prize (or part of that Grand Prize) which was not awarded, at the sole discretion of the Sponsor.

8. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a Grand Prize with one of greater or equal value for any reason. In the event an NFL player cannot visit the winner’s school for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to scheduling conflicts, cancellations, postponements, weather or for any other reason, the remaining elements of the Grand Prize shall constitute full satisfaction of Sponsor’s prize obligations to the winner, and no other additional compensation will be awarded. If the winner’s child is unable to have the NFL player visit on the date determined by NFL (including if the child’s school will not permit the NFL player to visit the school), the remaining elements of the Grand Prize shall constitute full satisfaction of Sponsor’s prize obligations to the winner, and no other additional compensation will be awarded.

9. Prior to any Grand Prize being confirmed and fulfilled,

a) the selected entrant (parent) must correctly answer without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by the Sponsor by email;

b) the selected entrant must sign and return a standard Contest Declaration of Eligibility, Publication and Liability / Publicity Release form (where permitted by law) on his/her and his/her child’s behalf within the time specified, (i) confirming compliance with the Rules, (ii) accepting the Grand Prize as awarded in the Contest; (iii) releasing the NFL Entities, Rogers Sportsnet, Tenzing Interactive and its advertising and promotional agencies and their affiliated companies, the independent judges, the Grand Prize suppliers and all of the above parties’ respective officers, directors, employees and representatives from all liability in connection with the Contest and/or the awarding of any Grand Prizes, and (iv) consenting to the use by the Sponsor and its affiliates of his/her and his/her child’s personal information, including but not limited to, their name, the child’s school, city that school is located in, city of residence, comments and/or their photograph, image or likeness, without compensation, in any advertising or publicity; and

c) at the request of the Sponsor, the school that will be visited by the NFL player must also sign and return a standard Liability / Publicity Release form (where permitted by law) within the time specified (similar to the release form described above).

10. This Contest is subject to all applicable laws. All entries which are incomplete, illegible, damaged, irregular, delayed, received after Contest closing date, have been submitted though illicit means, or do not comply with the Rules may be disqualified. The Sponsor takes no responsibility for lost, misdirected, delayed or destroyed entries, or for typographical or other production errors. Proof of transmission does not constitute proof of delivery, and proof of sending entry will not be deemed to be proof of receipt. 11. Sponsor reserves the right to amend, withdraw or terminate the Contest for whatever reason and at any time without prior notice. By participating in the Contest, each entrant will be deemed to have received and understood the Rules, agrees to be bound by the Rules, and warrants that all information provided in his/her entry submission is true and accurate. Any fraud or non-compliance with the Rules will result in disqualification. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for any reason, including the failure of an entrant to comply with the Rules. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of the Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and the Sponsor and its affiliates in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the province of Ontario, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the province of Ontario or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than Ontario.

12. Online entries must be made by the original, manual keystrokes of the individual entrant. The use of any automated equipment including robotic or form filling software to enter or participate in this Contest is prohibited and will instantly disqualify any entrant. Sponsor will not be responsible for any error, omission, interruption, defect or delay in any transmission or communication, for theft, destruction, unauthorized access, to, or alteration of entries or for any technical problem including but not limited to any liability for injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer or other property related to or resulting from participation in Contest, including downloading or copying any materials in the Contest. Only one (1) parent’s name and one (1) child’s name may appear on each entry form. In the event of a dispute as to who submitted an entry, entries will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet Service Provider (ISP), Internet Access Provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institute etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. In the event of a dispute, a potential winner may be required to provide Sponsor with proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the potentially winning entry.

13. Information collected from an entry is used by Sponsor to administer the Contest. The entrant agrees to allow his/her name, the name of his/her child, the school and city that school is located in to be posted on www.nfl.com/takeaplayer. Entrant will only receive advertising and marketing material from Sponsor if entrant has opted-in to receive this information.
